USA’s Olympic basketball team : They think that it is a Bar, But actually it is a Brothel

Rio de Janeiro, Aug 6 : A handful of players from the USA’s Olympic basketball team made a rather embarrassing faux pas while out seeing the sights in Rio last week.
DeAndre Jordan, DeMarcus “Boogie” Cousins and DeMar Derozan were having a night on the town when they visited a classy looking establishment called Termas Monte Carlo – which, it transpired, is a brothel.
TMZ reports that the team-mates wandered into the venue and had some drinks – before twigging it was no ordinary bar.
To be fair to the players, it doesn’t sound like too difficult a mistake to make for visitors in a strange city. According to a 2014 report by Rolling Stone on Rio’s burgeoning sex industry, the city’s ‘Termas’ brothels are “ostensibly spas.”
“The conventions at these places are the same: walk in, get handed a locker key, get naked, put on a robe. Downstairs are the spa accommodations. Upstairs, the girls.”
TMZ adds: “When you call the place, they’ll tell you it’s a spa that plays music … and it’s just for male customers. Oh, and they have a full bar.”
A source said the players didn’t hang around long after working out where they were: “They realized it wasn’t the right place for them and immediately left.”
