Maiden Test double century in First class cricket for Virat Kohli another trophy to his collection of record-breaking fueled strokes

Antigua July 23:India skipper Virat Kohli reached a significant career milestone on Friday as he scored his maiden double century in international Test cricket during Day 2 of the first Test against West Indies at Antigua.
Kohli got to the feat done in 281 balls, looked upwards to thank the almighty and raised his bat towards the Indian dressing room, not before kneeling and kissing the ground surface.
The Delhi-ODI specialist, is the fifth Indian captain to score a Test double hundred after Mahendra Singh Dhoni, Sachin Tendulkar, Sunil Gavaskar and Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi.
Kohli, who at the age of 19 ,made his international debut in an ODI against Sri Lanka at Dambulla in 2008, is now eighth in the list of most international runs scored by an Indian cricketer. He has amassed 7212 runs in 171 ODIs and 1641 runs in 43 T20 matches, along with over 3000 runs in Test cricket.
Kohli’s previous highest score in Tests was 169 against Australia at the Melbourne Cricket Ground in 2014. The right-hander is in thebest form of his life at present and is leading India for the first time in a Test series in the Caribbean.
Kohli often says he doesn’t care about milestones, but at some point of his career, he must have wondered why he couldn’t yet breach the 200-run mark.
The closest he had been to the vicinity of a double hundred was against Pakistan class side Sui Gas Pipeline in the now-defunct Mohammad Nissar Trophy.
He fell three runs shot as he consumed 15 balls to move from 194 to 197.
Virat Kohli as a captain and cricketer proved imperishable to the West Indies with his knock of a double ton
