Hyderabad August 12:Jawwad Patel, a 22-year-old engineering student from Hyderabad has designed a 3D-printed apparatus which can ‘create’ water from air. He is the first person from Asia to do so. The water apparatus produces pure drinkable water with the the help of computerised sensor interface with UV filter. In an hour, the device can extract nearly 1.8 litres of water from air.

The device called ‘Dewdrop’, uses moisture from the air to generate water.

Jawwad has been inquisitive about technology since the age of 10. He won many competitions in the field of electronics and robotics during his years in school and college.

Earlier, he had created a smart helmet, which does not let a person drive if he/she is drunk. Jawwad has been nominated for the National Youth Award 2015-16 and Dr APJ Abdul Kalam Excellence Award 2016.

Jawwad Patel is the Founder, Managing Director of “Jawwad Patel labs” and “Science & Solution” , pursuing his studies in Electronics and Communication Engineering – in LIET Hyderabad.

He started working on electronics when he was as young as 10 years. Later on in schools and during his college period he won many competitions in electronics and Robotics field, his ideas led him inventing new devices every now and then.

Jawwad, being an inventor himself holding patents in the fields of Electronics, He owns his Personal Lab and a Website.
